Global Ministry Education Network
Global Ministry Education Network (GMEN) puts in your hands everything you need to start your own online Bible College or Bible Institute
The early church effectively used the Roman road system to fulfill the Great Commission in New Testament times; and the reformers took advantage of the printing press to spread the Gospel. Today the Internet, often referred to as the "information highway", presents the church with a great opportunity to reach the world for Christ.
Accreditation
Accreditation Status
"Accredited status" means that students and the public can expect that a school or program lives up to its promises. It means that a student can have confidence that a degree or credential has value. Accreditation signals that the public can have confidence in the worth of an institution or program ( CHEA,2008)
In order to insure a basic level of quality, the practice of accreditation arose in the United States as a means of conducting non-governmental, peer evaluation of educational institutions and programs. Private educational associations of regional or national scope have adopted criteria reflecting the qualities of a sound educational program and have developed procedures for evaluating institutions or programs to determine whether or not they are operating at basic levels of quality.
Some Functions of Accreditation
- Verifying that an institution or program meets established standards.
- Assisting prospective students in identifying acceptable institutions.
- Assisting institutions in determining the acceptability of transfer credits.
- Protecting an institution against harmful internal and external pressure.
- Establishing criteria for professional certification and licensure and for upgrading courses offering such preparation.
Department of Education Accreditation
All accrediting agencies in the United States are nonprofit private associations. However, some accrediting agencies, without being government agencies, have sought and received approval from the US department of Education, mainly for the purpose of administering Federal financial aid dollars. This type of accreditation normally takes years to achieve and can be very expensive.
Again, this is a voluntary, peer review process. If you decide to pursuit secular DOE accreditation, we can provide you with the names of the DOE approved accrediting agencies for Bible Colleges and Seminaries; and you can apply directly to the accrediting agency of your choice.
National Accrediting Board for Bible Colleges and Seminaries (NABBCS)
NABBCS is private, not for profit association established for the purpose of accrediting Bible Colleges and Seminaries that (1) are legally authorized to grant degrees, and (2) offer only religious degree programs for the preparation and training of church ministers.
All members of the National Bible College Association have committed themselves to accepting credits, certificates, diplomas and degrees issued by other member institutions. This affords students the assurance of transferability of credits, diplomas and degrees earned from other member institutions, including yours.
Your Bible College will be fully accredited by NABBCS from day one.
Note: NABBCS is not a US Department of Education recognized accrediting agencies.
